Freefy pauses or music stops
Troubleshooting when your music unexpectedly stops playing.
There can be more than one reason why the music would suddenly stop. Below you can see a few examples about what could be the case. In this article we'll go over the most common causes and how to solve these.
- There is something wrong with the Freefy installation on your device
- You might have forgotten to log out on a different device and a friend or family member is unknowingly listening using your account
- Perhaps you are in an area with lesser cellular coverage
- Or an unauthorized party has gained access to your account and is trying to stream music

As with any unexpected behavior, it's a good idea to try a reinstallation to see if that solves the issue.

You might have forgotten to log out on a different device and a friend or family member is unknowingly listening using your account
This can be solved easily with the following two steps:
- Change your Freefy password, which you can do here
- Log your account out from all devices it's logged into, you can do this here
If you have a Facebook-created Freefy account, you'll need to change your Facebook password as well, and log your Facebook profile out from all devices.
Background playback issues on iOS
To ensure Freefy works correctly in the background on iOS devices, follow these steps:
- While playing music in Freefy, quickly swipe down from the top-right of your screen to open the Control Center.
- Quickly tap the play button on the media player that appears.
- Once you've done this, you can:
- Switch to other apps
- Lock your phone
- Perform other tasks
The music will continue playing in the order you've set in the app. This method ensures background playback works properly on your iOS device.
Background playback issues on Android
On Android devices, background playback is generally functional, although some users may experience occasional pauses. We are constantly working to improve and stabilize this feature.
If playback pauses while using Freefy in the background:
- Simply tap the play button on the player that appears in your notifications.
- This should be sufficient to resume playback without having to reopen the app.
